Italian born and bred, London based Francesca Massariol graduated at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts in Architecture for Theatre Design and just two years after, she received her BA: Design for Performance at The Central Saint Martins College in 2007.
Bringing her colorful background and a unique aesthetic to her work, in just a few years Francesca has been designing and managing every visual aspect of a variety of commercials, promos, and features.
Her debut film as Production Designer, Spaceship by award-winning writer-director Alex Taylor, funded by the BFI, BBC Films, and IFeature, had its world premiere at SXSW Festival in 2016.
In the same year Balcony, her BIFA nominated short film directed by Toby Fell-Holden collected an array of awards including the 66 Berlinale Crystal Bear and The London Calling Plus award.
Her latest Film Pin Cushion, by writer-director Deborah Haywood will have its world premiere at the 74.Venice Film Festival opening The International Film Critics’ Week 2017.
Starring Lily Newmark and Joanna Scanlan, Pin Cushion is an all-girl gothic fairy tale set in the British working-class suburbs.
Francesca is a member of the World Building Institute and the Production Designers Collective , a global community of production designers funded by Inbal Weinberg, interested in sharing knowledge and promoting the craft of Production Design.
